Easy Recipes for Kids
Cooking with your kids can be a fun activity this summer. I know sometimes the words kids and kitchen don’t mix but not there are Easy Recipes for Kids that you and your kids can have fun doing.
Example is pizza. Kids love pizza but they would love it more once they find out they can do it themselves. This easy to do pizza can be eaten during breakfast. Just skip the cereal your kids are used to at breakfast and give this homemade pizza a try.
Home Made Pizza
Ingredients:
Pizza dough – pre-made
cheese, shredded
eggs
sausage – or your favorite meat for breakfast
Procedure:
Preheat oven to 350*
1. Whip eggs in a bowl with a little water. Chop up sausages and add to eggs.
2. Mix in shredded cheese.
3. Spread pizza dough out on a cookie sheets. Make a small “lip” around the edge of the dough so the mix doesn’t run off.
4. Gently pour the eggs, sausage and cheese mix onto the pizza dough. Place in pre-heated oven. Cook for approximately 25 minutes. Dough should be done and eggs thoroughly cooked.
Another recipe you can try with your kids is the classic pancake recipe. My son and I did this and we had a lot of fun making the pancake as well as eating it afterwards.
Pancake recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour, stirred or sifted before measuring
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 1/2 to 1 3/4 cups milk
2 tablespoons melted butter
Procedure:
1. Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and 1 1/2 cups of milk; add to flour mixture, stirring only until smooth. Blend in melted butter. If the batter seems too thick to pour, add a little more milk.
3. Cook on a hot, greased griddle, using about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake. Cook until bubbly, a little dry around the edges, and lightly browned on the bottom; turn and brown the other side.
