First Week of School

It’s Z’s first week of school but sadly I have no photos to share.   I lent my camera so for now I just have to regale you with stories. :P

We had a good first week of school compared to last year.  Last year, Z was so shy that we had a few problems during the first few months of school but now he’s already used to schooling and didn’t mind having new classmates.  Of course it helped that he has a spanking new stroller bag to show around. hihi  So this time around Z shed not  a single drop of tear.

I think it also helped that they are fewer in class (less than15) and more teachers (they have two) so Z is taken care of unlike in his previous school where he was left to fend for himself in a class of 25 with only one tired teacher.  No wonder he used to cry every day.  Also Z’s teachers have this kind of reward system where they give them stamps of different animals on the hand for a job well done.  Everyday for the first week (except for the first day) Z got three of those stamps.  Every time I ask him why he has so many he said because he worked so hard for it.  Now I was speechless when I heard that.  I always tell him the value of hard work and I’m glad he’s finally listening.

So far we’re satisfied with Z’s new school and we hope we don’t have to transfer him until Grade six.  It’s so near our home – just a house away and we’re so glad we don’t have to commute at all to get there.  I even kid Z I can hear him if he cries so better behave himself.
