Another Earthquake Prediction

Jun 19, 2010 by

Oh, my! I think I would need my prototype 37c wrinkle cream asap. Why would I need a wrinkle cream? It’s because the news is giving me stress. It’s so stressing when they’re talking about how a 7.2 magnitude earthquake can destroy Manila and since we live in the heart of Manila it’s hard not to be affected. All sources are saying that a major earthquake comes every hundred or so years and they say it’s almost due in Manila. We’ve had a few earthquakes this year but all are minor. So now it’s 4 in the morning, I open the news again and I read their predictions once more. This is really stressing me out. This is the reason why I avoid watching the news on TV but now it seems I can’t escape it  even on the internet.
Anyway, I only think about one thing whenever I hear this. No one can predict what will happened. No one predicted the flood from typhoon Ketsana last year and now they are predicting it will happen again this year. So I won’t believe any more earthquake predictions. I think the more they predict it will happen, the more it will not happen because things work that way. It will happen the least you expect it.

Happy Independence Day, Philippines!

Jun 12, 2010 by

History was not my favorite subject when I was still in elementary and high school.  How could it be when all the teachers taught us was what’s literally in the books.  If we just read it and they didn’t teach us we wouldn’t have known the difference.  But all of that changed when I was in college.  My teacher regaled us with stories about our heroes whohelped us achieve our independence that we have never heard before.  It was so interesting that I had no qualms going to the library to read books she recommended.  I never regretted the extra readings because boy, those stories were really exciting and awesome!

So I would like to dedicate this post to all the heroes and unsung heroes who helped our country regain its independence.  Hopefully, I can keep their memories alive by telling my children all the sacrifices they have done – so us, the younger generation don’t have to be the ones to do it.  We salute all our heroes!

Is it Eczema?

Jun 12, 2010 by

I’ve been meaning to research about eczema after noticing that hubby’s skin is super sensitive. He often asks me to scratch his back for him because it’s so itchy. No wonder it’s so itchy when I look at his back it has red bumps all over. Now this can disappear after a moment or so. We don’t know what’s the cause of it. All that we know is when he’s stressed and tired from work and is about to sleep all these little red bumps occur.
I looked online to see if hubby’s symptoms are eczema symptoms. I was surprised that there are many types of eczema and many causes too. It’s not too uncommon after all. The pictures online look similar to my husbands. We need to consult our doctor asap to confirm if he really has it so we can get the appropriate medicines for it.

My First Concert in October

Jun 1, 2010 by

We will be going to John Mayer’s concert here in October.  I have purchased two VIP tickets last April and we were very excited to go but the concert was moved from May 16th to October 1st.  Hubby called Channel V’s office and was told that John Mayer himself requested for the concert to be moved.  So now we’re going to wait another five months to be able to see him perform live on stage if it does push through at all.

I’m still excited to go because this is the first time I will be able to watch a live concert.  It will be held at the open grounds of SM MOA which can hold a hundred thousand people.  I hope the organizers have effective crowd control measures to manage that many people.  I don’t mind seeing stanchions or a velvet rope as long as it keeps the people orderly.  Maybe they should also have some barricades in standby if worst comes to worst.

You know why I’m so concerned about the crowd?  It’s because by that time I would be seventh month pregnant!  Hubby said my stomach would be too big and I won’t be allowed to go but I’ve read the rules and pregnant women can go if they are on the VIP and fortunately that’s the ticket we have.  So I guess nobody can stop me attending my first concert ever except if John Mayer doesn’t go.
