If you want to become a nurse but don’t have the time to complete the full four year course then why not become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) instead. CNAs are in demand all over the United States due to increased number of hospitals and health care facilities. That’s why getting a job as a CNA is not that difficult.

As a CNA, you’re expected to be competent in certain medical tasks like performing CPR and monitoring patient’s vital signs.  You are also expected to respond to signals of calls by the patient and be able to serve whatever their needs are.   That is why you have to complete a cna training first before you’re accepted as one.

If you’re thinking of building a nursing career then becoming a CNA is the most logical first step you can choose.  CNAs are essentially assistants to nurses so you’ll get a good a good feel for the job and you’ll be able to assess whether you’re really suited for the nursing profession or want to continue as a CNA.
