Energy Efficient Penguin Windows for your Home

May 7, 2010 by

The heat is searing nowadays.  We’re turning our AC on for almost eight hours every day.  Even if our AC is turned on at it’s most coolest setting we can barely feel the cold.  That’s when I realized the importance of an airtight window.  Yes, I have discovered we can save on our cooling costs just by replacing our windows.  I have discovered these triple-paned Penguin Windows which can keep the energy costs in our homes down.  How you ask?  Unlike the normal low-cost windows, the Penguin Windows are triple-paned filled with Krypton gas, an extremely dense gas that would be better at insulating our homes.  It costs more but since these windows have a lifetime warranty you will have no worry for the rest of your life.  Isn’t that amazing?   After your initial investment you will never have to shell out money the rest of your life for these windows because everything is covered.   Even if you decide to sell your home the warranty will be transferred to the new owner which you can definitely use as a great selling point when selling your home.  Who wouldn’t want to have these energy efficient windows?  It’s probably one of the best investment a homeowner is going to make especially now that our electricity bill is rising every year.

Blogging at Starbucks Podium

May 7, 2010 by

For the third consecutive day I’m again blogging at Starbucks Podium.  It’s comfy and nice here and the internet at Podium is fast.  It’s so unlike the nightmare of the internet I encountered at St. Francis Square.  I would never think of blogging there.  I’m glad I discovered this place.  At least I get my tasks done while waiting for Z finish his VBS.  This is the last day of VBS so this is also my last day here too.  I’ll definitely be coming back here next year for Z’s third year of VBS.

Looking for a Suitable and Easy to Install Door Chime

May 7, 2010 by

Living high up can be a problem.  We never receive our bills – ever.  The postman can’t find out apartment or if he does find it he’s too lazy to climb our rickety stairs.  That’s why we really need a door chime. I’m particular though with the kind of door chime I would buy. I would never buy one with an ear splitting sound. Hubby has a problem sleeping so that definitely wouldn’t work so I’m on the lookout for one with a soothing but you can never miss sound. We also need an easy-to-install door wireless door chime so that we can install it right away.   We really need to find one right away.  It’s hard not receiving your bill you’ll never know if you’re behind or not.  Which reminds me, I got to call our internet provider if I’m overdue with our bill.  I can never live without internet.

Chewee Almost Escaped

May 7, 2010 by

We almost lost Chewee this week.  We were out so my cousin, Bam, and our pet, Chewee, were left home alone.  She left our screen door open and without her knowledge a visitor from the other apartment passed by our door.  The always curious Chewee followed the visitor downstairs (we’re on the third floor) and once outside he ran along the road as fast as he could.  Good thing Bam realized right away Chewee was missing, she looked down from the terrace and saw our dog running in the street away from our apartment.  She ran as fast as she could and caught Chewee just in the nick of time.  We were alarmed when we heard that and don’t want the same incident repeated that’s why we told her to always lock the screen.

Grocery Shopping

May 7, 2010 by

Grocery shopping in our family is once a month.  We do our grocery shopping every first week of the month.  It’s a family affair I tell you.  Daddy, Z, and I look forward to this once a month event. hihi  We have our own favorites.  Daddy must have his supply of juice – Tang and Minute Maid and Z must have his fill of chocolate – Chuckie and his favorite cereals.  Me – nah, forget it.  I’m a junk food addict but I’m trying to change. hehe  Anyway, after we fill our grocery cart with our favorites we line up at the cashier.  We always have the fullest grocery cart I tell you.  It’s like we have our own sari-sari store but no, all that food is just for our family’s consumption.  We wait for our turn for the cashier to scan our items with a Symbol LS2208 barcode scanner. The guessing game for how much our bill is going to be is the hardest part but after three years of grocery shopping I pretty much have a good guess of  how much our actual bill is going to be but every once in a while I still get surprised at how much we consume. :)
