New Hope for our Country
Jul 02Last Wednesday, a new president was inaugurated. Although the inauguration looked like a Sunday noontime show it was as refreshing as an natural acne cleanser to wake up knowing that after nine long years we finally have a new President. President Noynoy Aquino was not my bet but I have high hopes for his administration. I hope God gives him the wisdom he needs to lead our country to a better and prosperous nation.
My First Concert in October
Jun 01We will be going to John Mayer’s concert here in October. I have purchased two VIP tickets last April and we were very excited to go but the concert was moved from May 16th to October 1st. Hubby called Channel V’s office and was told that John Mayer himself requested for the concert to be moved. So now we’re going to wait another five months to be able to see him perform live on stage if it does push through at all.
I’m still excited to go because this is the first time I will be able to watch a live concert. It will be held at the open grounds of SM MOA which can hold a hundred thousand people. I hope the organizers have effective crowd control measures to manage that many people. I don’t mind seeing stanchions or a velvet rope as long as it keeps the people orderly. Maybe they should also have some barricades in standby if worst comes to worst.
You know why I’m so concerned about the crowd? It’s because by that time I would be seventh month pregnant! Hubby said my stomach would be too big and I won’t be allowed to go but I’ve read the rules and pregnant women can go if they are on the VIP and fortunately that’s the ticket we have. So I guess nobody can stop me attending my first concert ever except if John Mayer doesn’t go.

John Mayer in Manila
Mar 09John Mayer will be coming to Manila and will be performing live at the SM Mall of Asia concert grounds on May 16th. We’re definitely going to be there because hubby is such a fan – BIG TIME. I’m sure a lot of you are wondering how much the tickets will cost but unfortunately, no word on that is out yet. I will surely update this once they release the ticket prices.
The Davids Beating the Goliaths this Year on The Oscars
Mar 08Watching the Oscars and I’m excited. I was confident Sandra would win but now that the moment has come and they are introducing the nominees I’m getting nervous. I can only imagine what she’s feeling right now. Would this be the biggest moment of her life? It’s just a few seconds away and I can barely breathe in anticipation. I so badly wanted her to win.
On the other hand, hearing Oprah’s introduction on the lead actress of the movie Precious is making me cry. I can’t believe she went from an anonymous struggling black student to being nominated at the Oscars! Fairytales do come true. *sigh I guess it’s not yet too late for me to dream! No, it’s definitely not too late.
Update! Yes, Sandra Bullock won Best Actress! I knew it.
Anyway, the most intriguing part is Kathryn Bigelow defeating – no, not defeating but crushing ex-husband James Cameron in his own ballgame by bagging Best Director and Best Picture at the same time. Poor James Cameron. That should serve him for being an insufferable person. Kudos Kathryn! You proved to everyone the Davids can really defeat the mean, old Goliaths.
Rotating Brownout!
Mar 01Rotating brownout has finally began in our time. The schedule says it’s from 6pm to 8pm every day. The good news is that they have a schedule so we can anticipate it, the bad news is well, schedules are rarely followed. They were right on the dot the first night. Lights went out and went back on at the exact time it’s supposed to be but I doubt that they’ll be that reliable tomorrow. Nevertheless, let’s give them the benefit of the doubt.
