Our Homeschooling Journey Starts
I’m officially a teacher mom. I know I might be crazy of thinking to homeschool my kid but I know I’ll regret it for the rest of my life if I do not try it. Now that I have the blessing of my husband I really have no more excuse. It’s now or never for me.
So last week, we went to School of Tomorrow at Paranaque to inquire. We were immediately accommodated and within an hour of our arrival, Z was taking the diagnostic test. He was tested on different subjects that I believe took him 4 hours to finish. Had we known it would take that long we would have left Zach behind. He got cranky while waiting so we sighed with relief when kuya finally finished his test.

On our second trip we were required to bring his birth certificate, school grades, and 1×1 ID picture. I heard even homeschoolers will be given their own ID. I’m not sure if they invested on an id card software and id printer to be able to print the ID themselves or just have it done by a third party but I’m glad they thought of this. I know it will mean more to Z to have an ID because it will give him a sense that he still belongs in a school organization. We had to pay the tuition fee upfront so we could order the PACES – the term for their workbooks.
Now, we are on our third day of homeschooling. It’s still too early to conclude anything but thank God we are hitting our goals each day. As a teacher, I still have so much to learn. What I love about our curriculum is that everything is there. Sometimes I have to explain concepts but other times I can breathe and catch up on my work while he answers the exercises. I don’t do all the teaching though, my husband takes care of his Music, Arts, and PE subject.
