Songwriting Camp

Sep 28, 2010 by

Tomorrow is a big day for my hubby.  We are going to know the result of his audition.  It’s not only once that he mentioned that he really feels nervous.  I chuckle everytime he says it because I’m not used to him saying things like that.  Usually, he takes everything in a stride and he doesn’t feel nervous that much.  This just means this audition is really very important to him.  If he gets accepted he’ll be in a four day songwriting camp, rubbing elbows with the Philippine music greats.  I have seen the list of speakers in the songwriting camp and even I was impressed.  Normally, he gets excited over musicians I haven’t even heard of but this time I know most of the speakers in the list.

I really pray hubby gets accepted.  He told me it’s my duty to look for his name at the website tomorrow because he can’t bear himself to take a peak. Now, even I am getting nervous.  Z and me prayed already thrice today for a positive result.

After The Audition

Sep 16, 2010 by

Hubby came home from audition yesterday bringing with him my favorite Red Ribbon custard roll.  He was ravenous and quickly asked for food because he said he was too nervous to eat before the audition.  I served him vegetables and if you know my hubby he would complain everytime he sees vegetables on his plate but this time he gobbled it all up.  I guess all that adrenaline running through his body during his audition finally took a toll on him.  After having his late lunch, we ate the delicious custard roll.

So how did his audition go?  He said it was the most nerve racking experience he had his whole life.  He was interviewed by three judges with Mr. C observing the interview in the background.  No, they were not mean to him.  It was, in fact, the opposite but it was just his nerves he couldn’t control.  The results won’t be out until the last week of September which really frustrates him.  He said he’s going to keep thinking about it everyday until the results finally come out.

Anyway, I’m sure he did well.  I told him over and over to not think about it anymore. Z and I are praying everyday that he gets in.  I hope and pray he gets to follow his dreams.

SongWriting Camp

SongWriting Camp

My husband has applied to be included in a four-day songwriting camp to be held at Dumaguete City.  He was so busy that he only got his entry in at the last day of the application period.  That’s why we’re so thankful that he still got included in the list of those who will have to go on auditions.

The reason why he is so excited is because the person who will do the audition is none other than Mr. Ryan Cayabyab himself.  My husband was never the one to be nervous but he has told me more than once already today that he’s already so nervous.  I told him he has been practicing for this all his life so he has no need to worry.  He is already that prepared.  So to my husband, good luck and don’t doubt yourself one bit.  I know you can do it!

Martin Guitar for Hubby

May 22, 2010 by

Photobucket

Years of saving finally did Hubby something good. A few weeks ago he was finally able to buy his dream Martin guitar. Thanks to Ebay and his friend from the US who bought and delivered it to him in person.  Now he’s more obsessed in playing his guitar more than ever.  He has booked himself up to his neck on different gigs around the city.  His dream is to be able to quit working and do this full time.  I wish he’ll be able to realize his dream someday.
