Gift Ideas for Your Mom
Aug 31I remember when I was still a child the only gifts I can think of to give my Mom was a card. No matter what the occasion is – birthday, Christmas, New Year I only give her a card and nothing else. Well, who can blame me? I was still a student with no money to my name and where I grew up (in the province) there was no shopping mall at all.
Now that I’m older and have my own job, I don’t give her a card anymore. I’m happy that I can buy her a gift with my own money. But still sometimes I find it difficult to think of what to give her. Do you also find it hard to find your mother an appropriate gift? Mothers don’t complain much so we always assume that they’re contented with what they have and maybe that’s the reason why we don’t know what to give them. Here are a few gift suggestion ideas that you can probably surprise your mother with.
Typical gifts for Mom range from clothing to kitchen utensils and while these are nice gifts to give your mother you can also consider giving other things. Jewelries are mostly expensive but even a simple necklace or a simple ring can surely make your mother happy. The trick here is finding something that can fit your budget. Your mom will surely have a wonderful time showing it off to your friends and would always remember you with happiness every time she sees it on her finger. If you can’t afford a diamond then you can also consider giving your mom her birthstone.
Electronics not only belong to his father. Now your mom can join in the fun as well. As everyone knows, music is very important in today’s world and your mom is most likely a fan of a certain genre of music. Get your own mother iPod or MP3 player so that she can enjoy music while driving, working out, cooking and cleaning.
The digital age has made capturing family moments easier. This holiday give your mom a digital camera or camcorder and she’ll surely spend a lot of time looking at family pictures and reminiscing happy moments.
Women generally have a fairly large closet of clothes and accessories. Give her a new fashionable clothing, a new purse or wallet. Another accessory of course is SHOES! Check out online gift cards your Mom’s favorite shoe store. Or you can take her out to shop for shoes and surprise her by paying for them.
How to Remove Blackheads
Jul 02I have blackheads on my nose and for the life of me, I don’t know how to remove it. Of course, I tried any blackhead remover I could get my hands on but to no avail.
To date, I have tried the pore strip which you put on your nose and leave on for a few minutes. It did remove some of it but not all. Then I tried the metal rod with a small circle at one end which you can use to prick your nose. I guess it worked but I didn’t have the patience to remove all of my blackheads one at a time. Lastly, the only way that seemed to get rid of my blackheads was going to dermatologist to have my facial but too bad that proved too costly.
Fortunately, I have seen some blackhead removers on the market that comes in a bottle. Aside from removing the blackheads it also promises to shrink my pores. Awesome, isn’t it. I would surely try it and see if it works.
Why Do You Need Prenatal Vitamins
May 08If you are pregnant like me your doctor might probably prescribed you the best prenatal vitamins for your needs. You have an idea that these vitamins are going to be good for your baby but do you really know what vitamins are in there and what they are specifically for? If you don’t then read on to find out.
Prenatal vitamins are formulated for mothers to be to be taken for their own health as well as their baby’s health. Packed with several multivitamins to make up for any nutritional deficiency in the mother’s diet. The most important of these are the iron, folic acid, and the calcium.
Importance of Folic Acid for Pregnant Women
Folic acid can help reduce the risk of your child having neural tube defect. An example of neural tube defect is spina bifida where the baby is born with underdeveloped spinal cord. The nerves are exposed and damage and the child suffers from paralysis and sometimes mental retardation.
Neural tube defects develop as early as 28 days after conceptions so it is highly recommended that you take these vitamins as early as possible. Aside from taking prenatal vitamins you can also get folic acid from natural sources like green leafy vegetables, beans, nuts, and citrus fruits.
Calcium and Iron Needs of Pregnant Mothers
Calcium supplement is very important to be taken during pregnancy. The fetus will need calcium in order to form its own bones and the it will of course be taken from the mother. If the mother does not take extra calcium supplement her own bone density will suffer.
Iron is the oxygen carrying mineral and will be needed by both the mother and the baby to carry oxygen in their bloodstream.
Of course, it is better for the mother to eat a balanced diet but if that’s not the case then these supplements can help them.
