Rasengan!

Z loves Naruto as much as we do.  That’s why when he got hold of this toy Rasengan he immediately posed for some pictures ala Naruto.

Watch out for the Rasengan!

First Week of School

First Week of School

Jun 19

It’s Z’s first week of school but sadly I have no photos to share.   I lent my camera so for now I just have to regale you with stories. :P

We had a good first week of school compared to last year.  Last year, Z was so shy that we had a few problems during the first few months of school but now he’s already used to schooling and didn’t mind having new classmates.  Of course it helped that he has a spanking new stroller bag to show around. hihi  So this time around Z shed not  a single drop of tear.

I think it also helped that they are fewer in class (less than15) and more teachers (they have two) so Z is taken care of unlike in his previous school where he was left to fend for himself in a class of 25 with only one tired teacher.  No wonder he used to cry every day.  Also Z’s teachers have this kind of reward system where they give them stamps of different animals on the hand for a job well done.  Everyday for the first week (except for the first day) Z got three of those stamps.  Every time I ask him why he has so many he said because he worked so hard for it.  Now I was speechless when I heard that.  I always tell him the value of hard work and I’m glad he’s finally listening.

So far we’re satisfied with Z’s new school and we hope we don’t have to transfer him until Grade six.  It’s so near our home – just a house away and we’re so glad we don’t have to commute at all to get there.  I even kid Z I can hear him if he cries so better behave himself.

Car Addiction

Car Addiction

May 22

My son, Z, can’t get enough of cars!  He always begs his Dad to log on to the internet to find audi tt photos and chevy silverado photos.  He would look at the different car pictures and ask all sorts of questions.  His Dad would try his very best to answer all his questions but he would be asking more and more questions.  That’s how addicted he is with cars.  Aside from looking at car photos online he would also ask his Dad to play videos of cars online.  He would then ooh and aahh once he sees how fast the cars go.

I know he’s dreaming he is old enough to drive one of those jeep grand cherokee.  Meanwhile, he’s content on playing with his toy cars at home.  He has quite a large collection of cars now thanks to his Dad who always indulge him.  He repays his Dad by taking care of his toys and memorizing each and every car in his collection.  I tell you he knows every toy car he owns and would throw a fit if one is missing.

Aside from his looking at cars online and playing with his die cast toys he also asked me to buy a car magazine one time he saw one at a bookstore.  I was hesitant because we didn’t know how to read yet but I obliged.  The moment we got home he browsed the magazine from cover to cover.  If he could read I know he would pore over the articles too.

Drama in the Household and The Forgotten File

Drama in the Household and The Forgotten File

May 14

I messed up last night.  I wasn’t able to submit the file that I did.  It was all my fault.  I finished early and I wanted to turn off the PC right away so I can rest.  I figured I have plenty of time to submit it later.  Unfortunately, in the afternoon there was drama in our household.  Me, Z, and his playmate, Jave go to the playground every afternoon.  So when Z woke up from his afternoon nap we quickly went downstairs to fetch Jave.  I found Jave in front of the TV and I thought he was alone in the house.  We couldn’t leave his house unlocked while we go to the playground so I looked around the neighborhood for his uncle.  I specifically told Z and his playmate to go back to the house and watch TV while I look around and his playmate heard me loud and clear but Z didn’t.  So when I got back to the house Z was already crying.  No amount of persuasion – his dad tried first and then me next – could convince him to stop crying.  I reasoned with him, threatened him, spanked him, and finally pleaded with him but he told me he was in no mood to go out.  So there we were in sitting in front of each other, no one spoke a word, and no one wanted to give in.  I so badly want to go out and get some fresh air and get a little bit of exercise which I need after a long day stuck with the office furniture.  Finally, with a heavy heart I finally gave in.  I changed back to my home clothes and laid down.  That’s when Z told me if I waited a little bit more he would have agreed to go.  What a naughty, naughty boy he was yesterday!  To prove his point he went downstairs and called to me saying he’s now ready to go.  So what was poor me to do?  I changed clothes again and we went to the playground.  It was already fifteen minutes before 6pm but the sun was still up so we still went.  Anyway, we got back a little before 7pm and I was really tired.  I helped Z take a bath, fried some dinner, and we ate.  We watched a little TV and then went to bed at 8pm.  I woke up the next morning and the first thing I thought was my forgotten file.  There were a lot of calls on my phone but I was already too late.  Ugh, that was such a waste of time.  I didn’t get paid for what I did and I’m sure my employers were not so happy with me.  *sigh

Today is the last day of Z’s Vacation Bible School (VBS) and we’re happy we have completed it for the second year in a row. It was not easy I tell you. It’s hard commuting two and fro in this extreme heat and it’s not easy waiting for him for three hours. But I’m not complaining ever since Z’s dad told me what VBS’ impact to his life was I was determined that Z grow up the same way. That’s why I was willing to brave the early morning rush and beat the boredom. This is only Z’s second year and I hope we will be attending this every summer until he’s fifteen! :)
