Playing by the Beach

This little one loves the beach! Just look at his photo enjoying the sand  sitting by the commercial picnic table. I thought he would hesitate stepping in the sand but once he saw his Kuya playing of course he followed.

It also helped that we were prepared. We brought all the toys that they could play with in the sand. There’s the shovel which you can see in the picture. We also bought his little buckets and a little sailboat for his Kuya. We were at the beach for 3 days only but look how sunburned he is already. Had we stayed there longer then I’m sure no one would be beyond recognition when we get home.

Why I’m Feeling Lucky

I have never considered myself lucky. I was born to a broken family and I grew up alone with no siblings. I didn’t win any contests and I donn’t have any talents. Yes, I am not very lucky indeed.

But you know what? I think that changed when I found my husband. I got very lucky with him! Sshh, that’s our secret. Don’t tell him I told you that.

Anyway, here are the reasons why I scored high in the Luck Meter with my husband.

1. He’s God fearing. If you have a husband who fears God then for sure he will treat you right.
2. Great with kids. My kids adore him so much. He devotes quality and quantity time with them.
3. Talented. My hubby plays the guitar and he really knows his instrument well.
4. Sweet and loyal husband. I am his only one.

These are the reasons why I’m feeling truly lucky these days. We’ll be nearing our tenth anniversary and our relationship is stronger than ever. There were ups, downs, and bumps along the way but we managed to overcome it.

Hmm, maybe now that I am feeling lucky I might try my hand at the casino. They say that Luck and the casino should go hand in hand since you need lots of luck in order to win. I can think of a hundred things I’d want to buy if I win. haha! Trying your luck is so easy since you can do it in your laptop at your own home. You don’t have to travel to real casinos to try your luck. As for me, I’ll just try the roulette. It’s always been my dream to hit the jackpot there and catch the money with my hands just like in the movies. But if it’s online that’s okay, I’ll just be content with seeing my bank account with lots of $$.

 

We Will Be 7 Years this February

We will be celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary this February. If you include the years we were together as a couple we will be on our 10th year! That’s achievement enough for me. I’ve always wanted to have a family of my own but now that I am living that life I realized it’s really hard. It’s hard to stay married and it’s hard to raise kids.

I’m just so glad I married the right person. What’s our secret you ask? It’s our stubborn commitment to stay married. So that even when the going gets tough and the last thing you want is to see his/her face you still stay because you’re committed.

If I had married the wrong kind of person, for sure I’ll be one of the single mothers right now. I shudder at the thought because I could have married that wrong guy!

Anyway, there’s so much to be thankful for. I hope hubby and I get the chance to go on a date without the kids on this special day. Oh my, I don’t know what to give him to mark this occasion. He already has one of those stainless steel watches so I won’t be buying that. Hmm, I still have a month to prepare so I better make up my mind as early as now.

Reminiscing Bingo

If I’m not married or have kids I would be playing bingo game online. That’s what crossed my mind when I heard my aunt was out playing when I called.  Bingo has a special place in my heart. It reminds me of my childhood memories.

I grew up in the province where life is more laid back. Back then there was no cable and internet. Kids play physical games outdoors. While the kids are playing the adults have enjoy a game of their own – bingo. Since I was still a kid back then I would just watch them play. The good thing about this game is that unlike card games where the ideal number of players is 4 and below, here you can have as many players as you want. The more players the merrier. So a lot of adults would join and that would equal to a lot of fun and laughter.

To make things more livelier they would give numbers funny nicknames. I didn’t get it at first with my young mind but the longer I watch the more I got familiar with the names. Well, don’t ask me about it now because I have forgotten all about it. The last time I watched a game live was two decades ago!

Those days where the whole community would gather to enjoy such a game is long gone. But the good news is that malls now have opened up their own bingo centers. What’s becoming more and more popular though are the online bingo sites. This means you can play your favorite game at your own home in front of your computer. Instead of playing with your community you can play with people from different countries. Some have even chat windows so people can chat during the game.

Anyway, I’m just reminiscing here. I don’t have time to play because of the kids but if I do I will surely try a game or two.

Christmas Gifts

It’s a few days after Christmas! Last Christmas, my husband gave me some silver earrings. I was so thrilled to receive them.

He said he wanted me to wear those because he never sees me wearing any jewelry. I forgot to tell him that the reason I didn’t was because I’m such a klutz and I lose every piece of jewelry given to me before.

There’s my bracelet given by my grandmother, my necklace and bracelet set given by my mom, and my wedding ring. huhu So it would be practical for him to give me that I cannot lose like a pool heat pump to warm our pool (if we had one!) than to give me jewelry. hihi Anyway, I can still change and I’m willing to try wearing one again for my husband.

So what’s my Christmas gift to him? It’s a pillow! Oh, he has been complaining for a long time how he always gets the smallest pillow come sleeping time. So now he has his own special fluffy pillow that no one is allowed to use.

KFC Christmas Bucket Feast

After getting tired from shopping – it’s so hard to choose clothes for my two boys because there aren’t enough stylish clothes for little boys out there I swear – we took a break and ate at KFC.

We wanted to try the KCF Bucket Meals. I couldn’t see the price. I forgot my glasses. So I took this photo instead.

Bucket meals are less expensive and will add more value to your money. We were 4 adults plus two kids so even though I added a few extra like rice and fries it still came out cheaper.

We ordered the Streetwise Bucket Meal which you can see in the photo. I added two extra rice and large fries. Hmm, I didn’t notice you can add 4 brownies for an extra P50. Sayang! I love their brownies!

Anyway, if you are lazy to cook Noche Buena you can just order their Christmas Bucket Feast. It’s only P630 and it’ll be complete with your favorite KFC fried chicken, coke, plus desserts. At least you won’t get tired preparing food that can feed a barangay. Plus the less food you eat, the less chance of you and your family getting fat. Right?
